Help and FAQ

Answers to the questions we hear most from ticket buyers and organisers. Can't find what you need? Contact us.

Buying tickets

Do I need an account to buy tickets?

No. You can check out as a guest with your name, email address and mobile number. No account or password needed.

How do I get my tickets?

Every ticket has its own QR code. It's emailed as soon as you pay (and sent by SMS too if you choose that at checkout), and you can show it as a PDF or straight from your phone at the door.

What payment methods can I use?

By card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, through Yoco. Ticketlounge does not store your card number.

What is the service fee?

A service fee (R7.50) is added on top of the ticket price to cover payment processing. It's shown in full before you pay, and can change from time to time. Free tickets carry no service fee.

Can I get a refund?

Tickets are generally non-refundable, except when an event is cancelled or materially changed. See our refund policy for the full details.

What if I can’t find my ticket email?

First check your spam or junk folder, and any SMS from us. If you still can't find it, contact support with your order reference (or the name, email and mobile number you used at checkout) and we'll resend it.

How do I contact the event organiser?

Check the event page for details about the organiser. For anything to do with your order (payments, tickets or refunds), contact Ticketlounge support with your order reference. We'll help, or contact the organiser on your behalf if needed.

What happens if an event is cancelled or rescheduled?

We'll let you know by email. Depending on the situation, you'll be able to keep your ticket for the new date or get a refund. See our refund policy for details.

Organisers

How do I list an event on Ticketlounge?

Register for a free organiser account, then create your event with its category, date, venue and ticket types.

How much does it cost to sell tickets?

There are no setup or monthly fees. Ticketlounge takes a 5% commission on each ticket sold, deducted from your payout. Buyers separately pay a service fee on top of the ticket price.

Does my event go live straight away?

New events are reviewed before they publish, to keep the marketplace trustworthy for buyers. We'll let you know once yours is approved. Once your account is verified, your events publish straight away.

What ticket types can I offer?

As many as you need: General, VIP, Golden Circle, Early Bird or your own types, each with its own price and quantity. There are no seat maps; all tickets are general admission within their type.

When and how do I get paid?

After your event, we release your balance (ticket sales, minus commission and any refunds) by EFT to your South African bank account. You can track sales, balance and payouts in your organiser portal at any time.

How does door scanning work?

Your door staff scan tickets in the browser on any smartphone, so there's no hardware to buy or rent. Each ticket's QR code can only be scanned once, which stops duplicate entry.

Can I see VAT information for my sales?

Yes. Your organiser reports include the sales and fee information you need for your own VAT and accounting purposes.

What if I need to refund a buyer?

Refunds reduce your payout balance and follow our refund policy. If you want to offer buyers more generous terms than the platform default, contact support to arrange it.
